The successful candidate will be a pragmatic and self-motivated individual who can both work on their own initiative and function well within a team. The candidate will be expected to be able to research new technologies, give design recommendations and maintain the infrastructure. NB: Candidate will be required to undertake a basic CRB & KYC check. Responsibilities . Maintain and improve production, staging and development infrastructure. . Ensure that services are secured and intrusion attempts are monitored. . Research new technologies and give design recommendations . Maintain and improve monitoring and alert systems. . Administer user databases and permissions. . Perform releases. Essential skills . Linux system administration (minimum 3 years). . Good communication and interpersonal skills. . Good grasp of source control principles. . Strong database administration skills. . Shell scripting. Desirable Knowledge and use of: . MySQL . JBoss . Perl . PHP . Ruby . Java . Zabbix . Subversion .
